Aida (she/ they) has been doing doula care since 2019 when they took their first childbirth doula training and supported their sister at their niece’s birth. They are trained as a nurse and spent five years working in hospital and community setting- sometimes accompanying others through death, healing and birth. She has much unlearning she is committed to from her years working in hospital and non-profit settings to provide care for people in life’s transitions. Aida is a lactation nerd, has taken lBCLC lactation training and a favorite part of their works has been supporting parents in chest feeding in clinic and in-home.
Aida shows my newborn twins genuine love. I know they are well cared for when they are with her. Aida offers me support for whatever I am trying to achieve with my newborns, whether breastfeeding tandem or trying to get them to sleep for longer stretches of time. I appreciate that I can talk about my own motherhood journey and healing with Aida as well. Without judgment or agenda, she helps me strategize how best to manage and balance my newborns’ needs with my own needs and healing. She has also helped me process my delivery story and what it has been like to be a new mother.
Aida’s care feels personal, which means a lot. I sensed that she genuinely cares about us. I really liked how she followed up on a few items I had questions about. I really enjoyed our check-ins and just chatting in the middle of the night.
Aida was very thoughtful, attentive and available whenever I had questions or concerns. She was able to present me information in a way that never felt coercive and encouraged me to make decisions that line up with my personal values.
